KHACHIK KHACHATOURYAN

Khachik Khachatouryan is a contemporary artist residing in Los Angeles. He received his Bachelors of Arts in sculpture from the Art Institute of Yerevan in 1989 and a Masters of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art 1995.

Khachatouryan is known for his sculptures and has employed bronze, experimental/multi-media, glass interactive, murals, and steel in his pieces.

The Huntington Library in Pasadena has a series of his sculptures in their collection. Khachatouryan created fourteen foot sculptures of Shakespeare, Jane Austin and Charles Dickens for the new wing of the San Jose Museum of Art. He executed 75 sculptures for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland in collaboration with Micheal Evert, Steven Sprouse and Ralph Pucci.

In 1994, he won First Prize out of 6,400 entries in the Wilber Johnson National Sculpture Competition. In 2013 Khachatouryan created the memorial for slain San Bernardino County Deputy Sheriff Jeremiah McKay.
